De acordo com a Marinha, o Navio-Aeródromo Multipropósito (NAM) Atlântico transportará duas estações móveis para tratamento de água, capazes de produzir um total de 20 mil litros de água potável por hora. Elas serão usadas para o abastecimento de água da população, que sofre com o colapso do sistema de tratamento e abastecimento no estado.
A Força informou também que nesta terça-feira (7) foram enviados para o estado, o navio de Apoio Oceânico Mearim e o Navio-Patrulha Oceânico Amazonas, equipado com três embarcações e um hospital de campanha, com capacidade para 40 leitos a fim de atender vítimas das enchentes.
Segundo a Marinha, com a chegada dos navios, as equipes de resgate aéreo da Marinha, receberão reforço de mais oito aeronaves, além das quatro que permanecem de prontidão no estado. Serão doze helicópteros, no total, em um esforço contínuo de resgate aos moradores ilhados em áreas de difícil acesso. Também estão sendo deslocados 40 viaturas e 200 militares Fuzileiros Navais para atuar na desobstrução das vias de acesso, além de equipes de apoio à saúde, formadas por médicos e enfermeiros.
